Bergen is located in western Norway. With it’s 280 000 residents, it is the second largest city in Norway.
Bergen is know as “the city of seven mountains” and for being a international centre for aquaculture, shipping and offshore industry and technology. It offers a diversity of locations: City architecture, narrow streets with small wooden houses, islands and mountains with city viewpoints.
In Bergen you’ll find the UNESCO-listed Bryggen, a series of Hanseatic buildings lining the city harbour, and the famous fishmarket.
Bergen has a temperate and heavily moderated oceanic climate. It has the longest growing season of the larger cities in Norway, and experiences plentiful rainfall in all seasons. The weather is varying and can be hard to anticipate.
